These products are also called architectural textiles, and refer to textile materials that are replacing traditional building materials such as wood, steel and plastic in enormous structures, such as storage tanks, tents and roofs. As engineers search for new materials to create innovative products or enhance the functionality of existing products, textile materials are proving to be capable of serving a wide variety of markets.
